AfOx Visiting Fellow receives Africa Award for Research Excellence in Earth Science
We are delighted that Prof Ameha Atnafu Muluneh, a 2020 AfOx Visiting Fellow has received the Africa Award for Research Excellence in Earth Science.
Awarded by the American Geophysical Union (AGU), the award recognises individuals whose excellence and leadership in research, education and innovation have significantly advanced Earth and space science.
Ameha is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Earth Sciences at Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. He is also one of the 21 African researchers selected as the 2020 AfOx Visiting Fellowship. During his Fellowship, Ameha will be based at the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Oxford and will be working in collaboration with Prof David Pyle on a project titled ‘An Investigation of deformation patterns in the Main Ethiopian Rift’.
