Opportunity: Opportunity: All-Expenses-Paid Workshop on Data Management and Standardisation.NEWTON WORKSHOP TO BUILD DATA MANAGEMENT SKILLS AND NETWORK FOR EARLY CAREER RESEARCHERS
Responding to the growing mandate for researchers to share their clinical trials data, WWARN is joining with partners to host a 3-day workshop in January sponsored by the British Council’s Newton Fund in order to develop the skills and network needed to produce high quality data capable of maximising the impact of initial findings.
The workshop, entitled ‘Improving research data to inform better treatment of poverty-related infectious diseases’, will run from 23 to 26 January in Nairobi, Kenya, and will provide opportunities for early career researchers to interact, learn from each other, share research expertise, network and explore opportunities for building long-lasting research collaborations for data sharing and pooled analyses based on best practise data management.
All travel and expenses will be paid for successful applicants from Kenya, South Africa and the UK, by the Newton Researcher Links Programme. In addition, funding from WHO TDR will allow a small number of applicants from other countries to apply.
Completed applications are due on 30 October 2017.
