During her Oxford fellowship, Dr Gebreselassie is advancing her project, “Developing and Validating a Neonatal Screening Tool for Congenital Anomalies for LMIC Settings.” This project aims to create a practical screening tool based solely on physical examination, to facilitate early diagnosis and referral for neonates with congenital disorders in resource-limited settings. Her work is anticipated to improve neonatal survival rates and contribute to Ethiopia’s efforts in achieving Sustainable Development Goals in child health.
