
Mohammed Abdella
Mohammed is taking the MSc Refugee and Forced Migration with the Refugee Studies Centre in Oxford. A lawyer focusing on refugee and forced migration issues Mohammed’s research interests include refugees' access to legal aid services, protection against refoulement, local integration of refugees, and externalisation of international protection.
Mohammed holds an LL.B degree with distinction from Haramaya University, Ethiopia and has served as a district court judge in Ethiopia. He worked with St. Andrew's Refugee Services and Psychosocial Services and Training Institute in Cairo, Egypt, advocating for the rights of refugees. Mohammed has served as a Teaching Assistant with the Refugee Led Research Hub at the University of Oxford for Refugee Studies Centre pathways, supporting coordination, management, and academic delivery of the content.
On completing his studies, he intends to pursue a career as an academic researcher in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies and establish a think tank that focuses on forced displacement in Horn Africa.
