Sintieh Ekongefeyin

Sintieh is taking the MSc in Applied Digital Health at the University of Oxford. A medical doctor Sintieh studied at the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Buea in Cameroon, receiving the Presidential Grant in recognition of his outstanding academic excellence. Interested in digital health, Sintieh has worked as a primary physician in the conflict zones of the Southwest and Northwest regions of Cameroon. He provided emergency care for a population of over a 100 thousand stuck in the armed conflict.  Sintieh founded Sintieh Research Academy (SRA) – a start-up research hub aimed at improving healthcare research. He and his team have trained over 400 people in research methodology to inform best practices in NCDS care. As a result, he has co-authored 5 peer-reviewed articles.

Sintieh has been part of the One young world Johnson and Johnson leadership programme, Mister United Nations Cameroon, IYONs youth leadership summit, YALI West Africa Emerging leadership programme, and the Cameroon Leadership academy. These programme have enabled him to learn skills in team building, networking and conflict management.

After Oxford, he intends to engage in the fight to curb the burden of non-communicable diseases in Cameroon and Africa through research and the use of technologically driven solutions.
