Gloria Wawira

Gloria is studying for a Master’s in Public Policy at Oxford. A lawyer and Charted Arbitrator in training, Gloria has over eight years of experience in policy with a focus on Kenya's energy and technology sectors. Before coming to Oxford, Gloria worked in Parliamentary Service as head of the Committee Secretariat for the Committee on Technology. Beyond her work, Gloria volunteers for various initiatives. As an alumnus of the Young Africa Leadership Initiative and the Dutch Visitors Programme, she contributes to initiatives that support democracy, civic engagement, and sustainable development goals. 

Gloria studied for a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi and a postgraduate advocates qualification programme from the Kenya School of Law. She has also pursued professional development in evidence-informed policymaking offered by the European Commission and legislative drafting at the International Law Institute. After completing her studies, she plans to return to public service in Kenya and hopes to continue working on the implementation of digital government in Kenya, first in Parliament and potentially in the executive branch of the Kenya government.
