Hams Bashir

Hams is taking the MSc in International Health and Tropical Medicine (IHTM) in Oxford. A graduate in pharmacy from the University of Khartoum in Sudan Hams has worked as Health, Nutrition and WASH programmes coordinator for the NGO (Global Aid Hand), leading health responses in conflict-affected areas in Sudan. She later joined the Federal Ministry of Health in the General Directorate of Global Health in Sudan, where she supported the Ministry in the establishment of the Migration Health Desk.

Hams has witnessed first-hand the limitations of the health system in Sudan. An advocate for health equality, she realises the importance of building health systems that can deliver outcomes for the entire populations, especially those residing in the conflict-affected area in Sudan. By studying the MSc in International Health and Tropical Medicine Hams wants to develop the necessary knowledge, tools and experience to navigate public health challenges and strengthen health systems in resource-limited settings.
