Ange Noella Uwase is a medical doctor and researcher pursuing an MSc in Genomic Medicine at the University of Oxford. She is a Mastercard Foundation Scholar at the University of Oxford and a member of Hertford College. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Rwanda, where she graduated with first-class honours.

Ange is passionate about advancing evidence-based healthcare through research, clinical practice, and innovation. As an undergraduate researcher, she conducted a study investigating the prevalence of hypertension and the utilisation of non-communicable disease clinics among persons with physical disabilities in Rwanda, contributing to evidence on health inequities affecting underserved populations.

Beyond research, Ange has taken on leadership and service roles in national and international organisations, contributing to initiatives focused on medical education, advocacy, innovation, and professional development. She is also an award-winning writer, reflecting her passion for storytelling, communication, and using ideas to inspire positive change.

Ange is committed to advancing genomic medicine because of its potential to improve health outcomes by expanding understanding of disease mechanisms, enabling prevention, strengthening diagnosis, and supporting more personalised approaches to patient care. At Oxford, she aims to deepen her understanding of genomic technologies and their clinical and public health applications. Following her MSc, she plans to pursue a PhD and contribute to research that addresses genomic medicine challenges relevant to global populations. Her long-term goal is to support the integration of genomics into healthcare systems and help expand access to precision medicine worldwide.
