Chonde Chipulu
Postgraduate Diploma in Global Health Research
Chonde Precious Chipulu is a Zambian medical doctor with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. During her time at university, she served as Chairperson for the Association of Catholic Tertiary Students–Wits and volunteered as a first aid responder when the #FeesMustFall protests erupted across South African universities.
She is a well-rounded clinician with experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Emergency Medicine, Primary Health Care, and General Surgery. She previously served as Head of Cluster for the Casualty and Outpatient Department at a district hospital in rural South Africa and was an active member of the hospital’s Training Committee, advocating for and supporting the training needs of medical officers.
She currently runs IVdrate with Dr Chonde, a healthcare entity that integrates functional and aesthetic medicine to enhance patients’ quality of life, psychological well-being, and self-confidence. She also provides tailored health screening services and wellness day programmes for corporate organisations.
Having grown up in communities marked by significant health disparities, Chonde witnessed firsthand how socio-economic status heavily influences access to healthcare services. Experiencing these inequities in two low-income countries shaped her decision to pursue medicine and continues to fuel her commitment to global health.
Upon completing her Postgraduate Diploma in Global Health Research, she aspires to work with health organisations to design and implement research-based interventions that address health inequities and promote best medical practice to ensure standardized, evidence-informed care. She aims to contribute to the development of policies that safeguard patients’ health interests while ensuring these policies remain aligned with the latest research findings.
