Eric Sampane-Donkor

Eric Sampane-Donkor is a Professor of Bacteriology and Global Health at the Department of Medical Microbiology, University of Ghana Medical School. He holds dual PhDs in Medical Microbiology (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK) and Public Health (University of Iceland), with postdoctoral training in Microbial Genomics at the University of Cambridge, UK. His current research focuses on understanding the dynamics of infectious pathogens in vulnerable populations, including patients with stroke, sickle cell disease, and diabetes.
He has authored over 200 journal articles and received about USD 10 million in research funding. He is a Fellow of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences (FGA) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath).
