Morategi Kale

Career Transitions Programme Manager

Dr Morategi Kale is the Career Transitions Programme Manager at the Africa Oxford Initiative. She designs and coordinates the Transitions Programme, which supports African graduates at Oxford in their post-Master's career transitions by matching them with organisations across the continent for six-month experiential learning placements.

Morategi facilitates partnerships with institutions spanning start-ups, multinational development agencies, governments, NGOs and research institutions, whilst providing comprehensive support to scholars as they transition from academia to meaningful careers. Prior to joining AfOx, she worked as a development consultant, focusing on youth development and employability across Africa.

Morategi holds a doctorate in Human Geography from the University of Oxford, where her research examined the everyday experiences of unemployed graduates in South Africa.
