Zahraa is a medical doctor who graduated from the University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa. Before studying medicine, Zahraa did Mathematics, Philosophy, Economic History and Xhosa at UCT. Zahraa completed her medical internship at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, the biggest hospital in the southern hemisphere and her community service year at Kalafong Hospital in Pretoria.

Zahraa will be studying MSc Modelling for Global Health at St Cross College at the University of Oxford.  Through the MSc Modelling for Global Health at the University of Oxford, Zahraa intends to work as a clinician-researcher in Infectious Diseases in South Africa. She would like to use the skills from the MSc to participate in Infectious Diseases research while continuing her clinical specialisation.
