MSc in Water Science, Policy and Management, Linacre College

Abel Lodu is a public health professional with a focus on water science and policy. He has been awarded the Mastercard AfOx Scholarship to pursue an MSc in Water Science, Policy, and Management at the School of Geography and Environment, University of Oxford. During his studies, Abel will be a member of Linacre College.

Abel has extensive experience managing Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) projects. He has worked with international NGOs in South Sudan, delivering essential services to underserved communities. Before joining Oxford, he served as the WASH Programme Manager for Action Against Hunger-USA in Warrap State, South Sudan. In this role, he collaborated with government authorities and local communities to ensure equitable access to water resources.

Abel holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Nkumba University, Uganda, where he graduated with first-class honours under the DAFI Scholarship. After completing his studies at Oxford, Abel plans to return to South Sudan as a leading water consultant. His goal is to drive policy formulation and development for sustainable water resource management, contributing to the socio-economic development of resilient communities across the continent of Africa.
