Azeezat Ajose is a Mastercard Foundation Scholar studying for an MSc in Global Health Science and Epidemiology at the University of Oxford’s Nuffield Department of Population Health. She is at University College.

Azeezat holds a First-Class BSc in Physiology and an MBBS from the University of Lagos, where she achieved distinction as the Best Graduating Student in Physiology (2016–2017) and received the Abu Bakri Shonibare Memorial Prize as the Overall Best Graduating Student in Medicine in 2022. Her professional experience includes a role as Research Coordinator at the NSIA-LUTH Cancer Centre, where she contributed to clinical trials in oncology, with a particular focus on prostate cancer. She is a co-author of several peer-reviewed publications. Additionally, she has volunteered with The Dorcas Cancer Foundation, advocating for better access to cancer care in Nigeria.

At Oxford, Azeezat aims to deepen her expertise in epidemiology to conduct impactful oncology research, with a focus on expanding access to cancer care in Africa. Her future plans include residency training in oncology, where she envisions integrating clinical practice with research to reduce cancer disparities across the continent.
