Chukwuka Onyenze

Chukwuka Onyenze is a musicologist and recitalist specializing in Art Music performance. He is currently pursuing an MSt in Music Performance at the Faculty of Music, University of Oxford. He is a Mastercard Foundation AfOx Scholar and a member of Linacre College.

Before coming to Oxford, he worked as a graduate assistant at the University of Lagos, teaching piano and music theory. He also serves as the organist at the Cathedral of Lagos, where he trains choristers in choral and instrumental performance. Additionally, Chukwuka is a Nigerian ambassador for Johannus Orgelbouw and a member of the Guild of Organists of Nigeria.

Chukwuka holds a first-class BA in Music from Mountain Top University, Nigeria, where he received the Dr Daniel Kolawole Olukoya Foundation Music Scholarship.

After completing his studies at Oxford, Chukwuka plans to pursue a Doctorate in Musical Arts (DMA). He is passionate about advocating for music as a tool for societal reform, particularly in promoting African Art Music to a global audience. He also aims to contribute to educational policy in Nigeria, with a focus on the creative arts.
