Cynthia has experience as a land use planner developing policies that guide regional development in Kenya. She is pursuing a Master of Public Policy (MPP) at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford. Cynthia is a Mastercard Foundation AfOx Scholar and a Worcester College member.

Before joining Oxford, she worked as a physical planner at KREIS Spatial Planning and Consulting Associates LTD, where she worked on various land use planning assignments and was part of a team developing the Laikipia County Spatial Plan. This county-specific policy document guides sustainable land use management and development. She was also part of the Trans-Nzoia County Committee aimed at reclaiming grabbed public lands and putting them to uses that benefit the general public. Her interests include land use planning, public policy, sustainable urban development, food and nutrition security, and urban governance.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Urban and Regional Planning and a Master's of Science in Sustainable Urban Development from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.

After the MPP studies, she plans to use her education to develop and implement sustainable land use policies, urban governance policies, food and nutrition security policies, and physical planning policies in Kenya and Africa. She also hopes to further her interests by pursuing a PhD in International Development with a special focus on economic growth and structural transformation since this will contribute to the development of sustainable cities and communities, especially in the Global South.
