Darselam A. Seid is an Eritrean academic who is currently pursuing an MSc in Migration Studies at the University of Oxford. She is a member of St Cross College and a Mastercard Foundation AfOx Scholar.

Her research delves into various academic realms including intersectionality, post-colonialism, African feminisms, and qualitative research methods. Specifically, Darselam concentrates on the migration experiences of Eritrean women. She explores how militarism, patriarchal norms, and politics influence gender, sexuality, and migration patterns within this community.

Darselam has worked in the nonprofit sector as a researcher and practitioner, with a specific focus on women’s empowerment, economic development, and gender equality issues. She is also a Young African Leaders Initiative alumna who has been active in youth leadership and social entrepreneurship initiatives.

She holds a BA in Anthropology from Eritrea and an Erasmus Mundus master's degree in Gender and Women's Studies from Central European University and the University of Granada. 

While at the University of Oxford, Darselam aims to shed light on the migration experiences of Eritrean women, bridging academic research with real-world applications. She has plans to further her academic journey by pursuing a Ph.D. in either Anthropology or Migration Studies.
