Evetta Chisope

Postgraduate Diploma in Global Health Research

Evetta Kuwala Chisope is an emerging nurse leader with research experience in Multidrug-Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB), Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), and Maternal and Neonatal Health (MNH). She has previously investigated the barriers and enablers of MDR-TB treatment adherence in selected areas of Mangochi District, Malawi, with support from the Capacity Building for Health Profession Education and Research in Malawi (CHEER-Malawi). She currently serves as the Quality Improvement Focal Person for a Birth Defect Surveillance project at Mangochi District Hospital, where she leads a team of research nurses.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions to public health, Evetta was awarded a partial scholarship from the African Centre of Excellence in Public Health and Herbal Medicine (ACEPHEM) for her master’s degree in Global Health Implementation. She is also passionate about academic mentorship and has already mentored an undergraduate nursing student from Mzuzu University whose research project aligned with her own master’s work on bubble Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (bubble CPAP).

Having engaged in research at the community level, Evetta aspires to expand her impact internationally and mentor other young researchers through the Africa Oxford Initiative. Outside her professional and academic pursuits, she enjoys hiking, learning new cultures, building meaningful connections, and travelling.
