Joy is an Obstetrics and Gynaecology specialist. While working at Kenya's largest referral hospital, Joy witnessed the distress of couples affected by infertility and became passionate about gamete and embryo research for affordable artificial reproductive technology (ART) protocols.

At Oxford, she will be a member of Reuben College. She will pursue an MSc in Clinical Embryology at the Nuffield Department of Women's & Reproductive Health as a Mastercard Foundation AfOx scholar. Her goal is to establish a top-notch fertility centre in her region.

Joy holds a Bachelor's and Master's in Medicine, specialising in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.
