Nicholas Whittaker is pursuing a Master of Science in Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford. He is an Oppenheimer AfOx Scholar and a member of Wolfson College.

Nicholas graduated with distinction from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, earning a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Computational and Applied Mathematics. He has experience as a teaching assistant and has lectured a first-year Computational Mathematics course. His research interests focus on fluid mechanics and mathematical modelling.

Outside of academia, Nicholas has a passion for sports and has competed in national-level 1500m running events in South Africa.

Upon completing his studies at Oxford, Nicholas aims to contribute to the development of fluid mechanics and mathematical modelling in Southern Africa, with a focus on advancing academic research in these fields.
