Opeyemi Adewale Gbadegesin

Opeyemi Adewale Gbadegesin is a Lecturer in the Department of Public Law, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He holds a PhD in Law from the University of Ibadan, where his research examined natural resource governance and the concept of sustainable development. His scholarship explores the intersections of environmental law, climate change, and Indigenous knowledge systems, with a focus on advancing sustainability and justice in Africa.

Opeyemi has published widely on environmental governance, biodiversity conservation, energy transitions, and human rights implications of climate change. His recent work includes contributions on integrating Indigenous ecological principles into biodiversity legislation, the gendered impacts of climate change, and legal frameworks for sustainable green economies.

Beyond research, he has taught and supervised students across constitutional law, evidence law, and environmental law. His work aims to bridge the gap between law, policy, and community practices in shaping inclusive pathways toward climate resilience and sustainable development in Africa.
