Patricia Mativo is a Kenyan Mastercard Foundation AfOx Scholar for the 2023/2024 academic year at the University of Oxford. 

She graduated with First Class Honours in Analytical Chemistry from the Multimedia University of Kenya. She is pursuing a Master of Science in Environmental Change and Management at the University of Oxford's School of Geography and Environment at Oriel College.

Before joining Oxford, she worked as the Vice Chairperson of the Youth Advisory Board of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and as the Coordinator of the Global Network of Young Persons with Disabilities. She was appointed by the Ministry of Interior and National Administration with the support of the United Nations Resident Coordinator's office as a member of the Independent Panel of Advisors to review Kenya's Peace Architecture. She has also interned as a chemist in the Government Chemist laboratories through the Ministry of Interior and National Administration. Patricia has been recognised by Business Daily Africa as one of the top 40 under 40 women in Kenya in 2023.

After graduating from Oxford, she plans to work with the Kenyan government and international organisations, such as the UN. She aims to address social inequalities resulting from the climate change crisis that has greatly affected Africa and advocate for the rights of young women and persons with disabilities.
