Samuel Otte

Mastercard Foundation scholar

Master Law and Finance, University College

Cameroon

Samuel Otte is an entrepreneur and jurist. He is taking the Masters in Law and Finance at the University of Oxford. Samuel is a Mastercard Foundation  AfOxScholar and member of University College.

In 2017, Otte lost his real estate startup due to the Anglophone Crisis in Cameroon. Determined not to languish in despair, he pursued a law degree at the University of Buea, graduating top of his class with First-Class honours. He then became passionate about helping small businesses braving the odds of the crisis with often challenging legal issues such as contracts, insurance, and taxation.

Otte aims to further explore the dynamics between law and business during his studies at the University of Oxford. He hopes to champion reforms to create a sustainable, business-friendly environment in Cameroon and Africa by promoting pragmatic business regulations.
