Sandra Akweley Martey is a Ghanaian Mastercard Foundation AfOx scholar. She is pursuing a Master of Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, and she is a member of St Antony's College. 

Sandra is a 2023 Mandela Washington Fellow. She served as a gender equality, inclusivity, and fashion consultant at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).  Utilising fashion as a tool for change, she advanced the socio-economic well-being of young women and girls in rural areas of Ghana and Kenya. She led the UNFPA and Prada Group flagship partnership project - 'Fashion Expressions; The Stories She Wears'. She is also the creative lead behind her fashion brand - aQweley Waabii. 

Sandra holds a BA in Public Management from the University of Professional Studies, Ghana. She is passionate about TVET (Technical, Vocational Education and Training) and its role in Africa's sustainable growth.

After completing her Master of Public Policy at Oxford, Sandra aspires to become an expert in human capital development and educational policy analysis. She aims to leverage TVET as a critical tool for ongoing development on the African continent.
